Chicago Sister Weekend!

This past weekend was everything I needed. It was with my favorite person in my favorite city! We had an awesomely relaxed weekend filled with walking, eating, drinking and talking. With some shopping and sleeping when we stumbled upon it… We purchased each other’s birthday presents (her Patagonia, me Madewell... appropriate) and took the town each night.

Friday night, once we checked into the Freehand Hotel/Hostel (COOLEST place ever! Thanks, Court!!), we moseyed down to The Broken Shaker for a night-caper. On Saturday we woke up refreshed and ready to take on Chicago! We had no agenda in mind; all we knew was that we wanted to start walking and see where the city would lead us. We walked through Eataly, explored Maggie Daley park (and froze our butts off), ate a The Purple Pig, and did some shopping before meandering our way back to The Broken Shaker (we simply could not get enough of those artisan cocktails!) After getting pretty and quick photo shoot in our room we Uber’ed it to Wicker Park for drinks and snacks at Violet Hour. Courtney has talked about this place to much that I feel like I’ve already been there. Nothing about this speak easy'ish restaurant was an upset. Great food, great drinks and great conversation (obviously great company!). We Uber’ed back once more and wound up the ACME hotel bar (The Berkshire Room) right next door to the Freemont, before visiting The Broken Shaker one last time for their naanchos J

Sunday morning we pre-gamed our Bongo Room brunch with coffee and macaron’s (from Alliance Patisserie). The Bongo Room was delicious and a perfect way to end our weekend (can’t wait to try out Orange next J).

I miss my sissy already but we can rest easy knowing we’ll see each other again in just a few short weeks!!
