Windmill Island

Last week Max and I visited Holland for this year's Tulip Festival. Unfortunately, the really warm weekend followed by freezing temps and lots of rain killed off many of the plants before we could make it to the festival. Windmill Island is the place to go during the festival so it was our main priority. We took a detour for a quick beer and then decided to walk to the "island". After aimlessly wandering for half hour we finally stumbled upon the large windmill and headed straight for it. Even though it wasn't sunny and beautiful it was a really fun time meandering through the still colorful flowers. 

I love this festival. It's always the perfect way to feel like Summer is finally on it's way (even if the weather is not always cooperating). We had so much fun exploring the city and vowed to go earlier in the season next year :)

80’s in April! - Picture Diary

A couple of weeks ago, Michigan experienced some pretty awesome weather. Two eighty degree days in a row and we in the midwest were in heaven. Max and I decided to head to the Holland lakeshore to take advantage of the beautiful sunshine. We quick stopped into a co-workers brewery then it was off the beach. The beach which was colder than we expected but still a beautiful sight to see.... and a perfect start to the Spring & Summer months.

This week was one of those weeks… one of those weeks where every day there is something fun waiting for you when you get home. Whether that be a date with the couch or a FaceTime date, a get together with girlfriends, yoga… you name it! It made the week zip by in a blink. And I liked it.

Well guys, it's officially Fall. And while I'm not ready to bust out the coats I am ready for the Fall season and everything it represents. What better way to ring in the season than to entertain an old college buddy over Captain & Cider and Michigan State football lingering in the background?! Cheers!

This week was a big one. Got a lot done. Had a lot of deadlines. Not too many plans at night but enough to take a toll. I feel pretty beat. All this running around is starting to get the best of me. This weekend I look forward to some quality time with the hubbs.

Spartan Nation takes on Kalamazoo

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Michigan State’s opening football game in my hometown of Kalamazoo. I made the trek south to celebrate with close family and friends. As much as I love football and tailgating I must say the highlight of the evening was the fireworks at halftime. We were able to head back to our tailgating sight, mingle with the peeps and witness a spectacular firework show. It was unexpected and magical… the perfect way to kick off this season. The victory at the end helped… sorry Mom J
