Coming off a high from a weekend in New
Orleans with my sister, I knew this week would drag! Which it did… being busy
aside all I could really think about all week was how much I wanted to take an
extended vacation to enjoy hot Michigan weather. Well… I could not do that but
at least it’s another LONG weekend J
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Tonight we’re having a get together at our
house for my 30th, then the rest of the weekend we are playing it by
ear. Lansing brewery tour? Beach? Relaxing around the house with Rosie Lu!?
Whatever. I’m so excited for summer!

Yay for Riverbank Run! It was SOOOOO cold, but I was able to get mine, and Max's, butt out of bed and head downtown for the 7:00 am shot gun start. Some 20,000 participants hit the pavement for this race, the biggest road race in the nation. It's always so much fun to see the city come to life the way it does during this celebration.
Congrats to all of the racers out there! Maybe I'll take on the 10k again some year.... (BBG keeps me plenty busy for now :)).

Last week Max and I visited Holland for this year's Tulip Festival. Unfortunately, the really warm weekend followed by freezing temps and lots of rain killed off many of the plants before we could make it to the festival. Windmill Island is the place to go during the festival so it was our main priority. We took a detour for a quick beer and then decided to walk to the "island". After aimlessly wandering for half hour we finally stumbled upon the large windmill and headed straight for it. Even though it wasn't sunny and beautiful it was a really fun time meandering through the still colorful flowers.
I love this festival. It's always the perfect way to feel like Summer is finally on it's way (even if the weather is not always cooperating). We had so much fun exploring the city and vowed to go earlier in the season next year :)
Weather is weird. It was a beautiful weekend
followed by a slow decline of temperatures throughout the week. All leading up to tomorrow. The Riverbank Run. Not looking forward to it at all… it will be in the 30’s while I’m running and I’m
the kinda girl that doesn’t like running below 55 degrees and sunshine. So this
should be interesting! Although, assuming I make it out of my warm bed (since I skipped last year due to a monsoon I would REALLY like to make it this year), at
least I’ll have the nice beer tent to look forward to J

This past weekend we celebrated Max's buddy from college in a small town near Detroit, called Utica. The wedding was an eating, drinking and dancing fest from start to finish. It's no secret that I love weddings!
